A Santa Rosa homeless encampment where a woman was killed by a car outside her tent has been cleared.

City officials cleared the site on Roberts Avenue yesterday after giving warning to the 35 residents there the night before. It came after complaints from neighbors saying the camp was blocking access to Roberts Avenue. Officials, however, left the makeshift memorial for Kellie Jones undisturbed leaving the decision on its removal to the property owner. Jones was killed last month when Clifford Adams allegedly ran his vehicle into her when trying to hit another man he had had an argument with.
