The California Independent System Operator is extending the statewide Flex Alert. Everyone is asked to voluntarily conserve energy today between 4 p.m. and 9 p.m. due to high heat and increased energy demand. Ways to do that include powering down computers, turning up the thermostat, turning off unnecessary lights, and avoiding the use of major appliances.
