Forecasters say rainfall totals from the weekend’s powerful storms are expected to set new records. Forecasters are waiting until sometime this morning to confirm the rainfall totals. The National Weather Service says preliminary numbers have surpassed expectations with rain totals varying throughout the county, but generally in between 5-10 inches of rain. The Sonoma County Airport recorded about seven and half inches since Friday night. Rohnert Park received over seven inches, and Petaluma got over four. Forecasters say it was likely the most powerful storm to hit the area in more than a generation.
As for today, there will be showers with chance for additional flooding. Coastal areas could get between 1-2 inches of rain.
