U.S. Health and Human Services Secretary Xavier Becerra was back in California yesterday. The former Attorney General returned to the Golden State to help launch the open enrollment period for Covered California. Becerra said insurance premiums are lower this year because of the American Rescue Plan, and credited the 2010 Affordable Care Act with increasing health coverage across the country. This was Becerra’s first public appearance in California since being appointed to the position by President Biden.
