A Novato man who was driving recklessly near the town of Sonoma killed a 16-year-old passenger in his car after crashing into multiple vehicles on Sunday. 24-year old Manessis Alexander was driving erratically on Highway 116 near Watmaugh Road just after 11am, passing vehicles and weaving in and out of traffic. Alexander’s Cadillac slammed into an SUV traveling in the opposite direction, then bounced off another vehicle. The Cadillac then hit a third vehicle before coming to a stop. Another 16-year-old boy in Alexander’s car suffered major injuries and was airlifted, along with Alexander, to Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital. Two of the other drivers had minor injuries, and the fourth driver did not have any injuries. Authorities arrested Alexander on suspicion of felony driving under the influence of drugs.
