Senate Bill 871, which was introduced by State Senator Richard Pan, would add the COVID shot to the list of required vaccines to attend K-through-twelve schools in California. This means parents would not be able to opt their children out of the requirement for personal beliefs, only for medical reasons. Pan said the bill would help ensure schools would stay open.
