Anti-vaccine and mask mandate protesters staged an event over the weekend in Sonoma Plaza. About 250 protesters came out Sunday speaking against local public health mandates aimed at reducing the spread of COVID-19. Several spoke including Healdsburg City Councilmember Skylaer Palacios who has not been vaccinated. Speaking to the crowd, Palacios said “I’ve questioned it but it does not mean I’m anti-vax and anti-science. People should be able to ask questions, but instead, people have been silenced.” The protest was organized by Save Our Sonoma, a group that describes itself as, quote, “concerned, multi-partisan citizens that believe in taking action against the tyranny being thrust upon us by our local leadership.”
