Sonoma County is going to lift its temporary restrictions on large gatherings this week. Health officials say they will let the 30-day health order expire at 11:59 p.m. this Thursday. The order had prohibited large gatherings of more than 50 people indoors, or more than 100 people outdoors if social distancing was not possible. Sonoma County reached an all-time high in average daily COVID cases during the Omicron surge in early January. There were nearly 250 COVID cases a day for every 100-thousand residents during the peak. As of Friday, the average was 126 cases a day for every 100-thousand residents.
