Even though it’s no longer required, Sonoma County health officials still encourage everyone to wear masks in public.  Yesterday, Public Health Officer Doctor Sundari Mase reminded people that the pandemic isn’t over, and said masks are still highly recommended. Fully vaccinated people no longer have to wear masks in indoor public settings, with the exception of schools, childcare centers, assisted living facilities, public transit and a few more places.  Sonoma County aligned with the state’s mask guidelines, despite a recent letter from a group of health care advocates.  They asked Mase to wait a few more weeks until the Omicron surge is over before letting people drop their masks.
