Healdsburg Vintner Dies at Age of 80

Bruce Perry, known for making wine out of his garage, has died at the age of 80. Perry died February 8th, but his death was not reported publicly until yesterday. Perry was the co-founder of Healdsburg’s Papapietro Perry Winery, which he started with fellow home winemaker Ben Papapietro with 75 cases of pinot noir in 1998. Perry and his wife moved to Healdsburg in 2001, and in 2005, he and Papapietro moved into their own winery at Timber Crest Farms. A celebration of Perry’s life will be held on March 20th at the Villa Chanticleer in Healdsburg.
