Kids in California are days away from not having to wear masks at school, but some parents are trying to get them to stay on until the end of the school year. A group of parents in the Sacramento City Unified School District have close to 500 signatures on their petition for keeping masks on. Their reason behind the petition is worry over low vaccination rates with students. A school district spokesperson says once the mandate ends they’ll look at all of their options, but as of now, kids can leave the masks home after Friday. Here in Sonoma County, Santa Rosa City Schools are meeting tomorrow to discuss when to drop the mandate.
