
Sonoma County health and education leaders will still strongly recommend students wear masks indoors after tomorrow. That’s when the statewide indoor mask mandate for students expires. The county’s 40 school districts will be allowed to enforce stricter face covering rules than those imposed by the state. Santa Rosa City Schools, the largest district in the county, is keeping its mask mandate for the time being. Sonoma County Office of Education Superintendent Steven Herrington says unvaccinated school staff members and parent volunteers will need to keep their masks on indoors, and may eventually need to undergo weekly coronavirus testing.
