A former Healdsburg Planning Commissioner accused of assaulting a pair of teens is due back in a Sonoma County courtroom today. Jeff Civian is accused of holding two 15-year-old Latino boys at gunpoint when they stepped on his porch to take photos in the summer of 2020. The boys told police they thought Civian’s home was empty. Prosecutors say Civian pressed down on one of the boy’s necks, and when he told him he couldn’t breathe, the former city official replied with, “shut up, you are not George Floyd.” Attorneys plan to argue pretrial motions this afternoon, ahead of a future jury trial.
