Sonoma County’s coronavirus case rate is up in the two weeks since Memorial Day Weekend gatherings. But, the amount of serious cases is not. Public health officials say the number of hospitalizations has remained stable despite growing case totals. The death rate is also relatively low. County health officer Doctor Sundari Mase credits the COVID-19 vaccine and natural immunity people have built up during the past two-plus years of the pandemic.
