The LA Times reports the BA5 subvariant may have an enhanced ability to create many copies of the virus once it gets into human cells. Experts say the virus has the potential to replicate itself more effectively than Omicron. Sonoma County saw a higher surge of cases at the end of May. There were 142 new cases of Covid reported in Sonoma County on Tuesday. The CDC reports the BA5 subvariant makes up about 65-percent of new Coronavirus cases in the country over the past week.
