Efforts to clear two homeless encampments off the Joe Rodota Trail are underway. Crews started cleaning the areas Monday morning, a few days after a federal judge reversed the ban that stopped Sonoma County from taking down the encampments. The encampments on the trail segment east of Roseland Avenue are virtually gone already. Park officials have also moved sections of fence so they’re back in a parallel line with the trail. Before, the fence was pushed back to allow room for the homeless encampments. The plan for today is removing more garbage and washing sidewalks. Sonoma County officials are aiming to reopen the Joe Rodota Trail by Friday.
