Sonoma County School Officials Push for Vaccinations Ahead of the New School Year

The Sonoma County Office of Education is reminding and urging parents to get their kids up to date on vaccinations. Officials believe that students may have fallen behind on vaccinations required to attend school. Various immunizations are required including DTaP, Polio, Hepatitis B, measles, mumps, and rubella, and chickenpox. California state law requires vaccinations for students entering transitional kindergarten or kindergarten, or entering public or private schools for the first time. More information on public health issues and Covid-19 will be discussed during two back to school webinars hosted on the County of Sonoma Facebook page. The first will be on Wednesday in English, and the second is on Thursday in Spanish. Both start at 4 PM.
