A bill that would allow low-income seniors and people with disabilities to receive care in their own homes is heading to Governor Newsom’s desk. State Senator Bill Dodd, who proposed the bill, says it “protects people who would be most at risk while saving taxpayer dollars that would be spent on outside care.” The California Community Transitions program averages savings of $60-thousand per person per year and lets vulnerable patients transition out of institutional settings back into the home, not only saving money, but also improving quality of life.
