DUI crash site involving Antonio Mendoza Salinas (Petaluma Police)

A Petaluma driver has been arrested for DUI after crashing into signs and barriers. On Tuesday night, a driver tried to make a right turn from Johnson Street onto East Washington Street. Instead, he drove onto the southern sidewalk of East Washington Street where he collided with a posted, ‘Bike Route’ sign. Despite his tires being popped and airbags deployed, the driver continued eastbound on East Washington, colliding with a raised concrete barrier and the pedestrian safety railings on the overpass. Officers arrived and determined the driver, 48-year-old Antonio Mendoza Salinas, was under the influence. An injured passenger in Salinas’ car reportedly walked away from the scene but was never located.
