Despite comments from President Biden that the COVID-19 pandemic is over, those on the front lines of the public health crisis say otherwise. Doctor William Tseng, Assistant Medical Director of Kaiser Permanente, says while people are moving on with their lives, they need to be aware of the risks the virus still poses and COVID-19 can still cause very serious illness. Dr. Tseng recommended everyone should have at least three shots of a COVID vaccine and if you’re sick with COVID symptoms, get on the monoclonal treatments as soon as possible. Health experts say half of recent virus-related deaths are elderly people or those with underlying health conditions, while the rest are unvaccinated. Doctors say more needs to be done to get this group vaccinated.
