A mother and her baby were injured after they were hit by a truck in Sebastopol. Thirty-six year-old Donna Almendrala was walking southbound along the edge of Burnside, north of Bloomfield Road while holding her 9-month old baby boy. A truck driving southbound on Burnside hit Almendrala with its side mirror. She suffered minor to moderate injuries and her baby had minor injuries. The truck was not speeding at the time and neither the driver, Scott Gibbs, nor Almendrala were under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
