Animal Activist Whole Who Stole Chickens Takes Plea Deal

A woman accused of taking chickens from poultry farms during protests in Sonoma County is now taking a plea deal with prosecutors. Court records show Almire Tanner, an animal welfare activist, pleaded no contest to a misdemeanor count of trespassing on January 19th. Tanner is now required to do 100 hours of community service, pay nearly 13-thousand-dollars in restitution, and stay at least 100-yards away from Sunrise Farms, which is where one of the protests was. The demonstrations happened at farms in the Petaluma area in 2018 and 2019. Her three co-defendants are expected to learn if they’ll stand trial on February 6th.
