A local grassroots organization is holding a “Solidarity Vigil” tonight at the new Unum statue in Courthouse Square. Organizers from Love and Light say it will be a time to “mourn, stand, and hold community” in light of recent mass shootings,and the death of Tyre Nichols in Memphis. The gathering will be held tonight from 6pm to 8pm and people are encouraged to bring candles, flowers, and signs. Tonight’s vigil is another in a string of observances across the country over the weekend.
