Roof Fire Put Out at Catholic Charities Building in Santa Rosa

A roof fire caused the downtown Santa Rosa location of Catholic Charities to evacuate. It was reported around 4 PM Wednesday on the roof of the three-story Caritas Center at Morgan and Sixth streets. Three engines and two ladder trucks responded and managed to contain the flames to the area immediately around a surface mounted electrical box, which is believed to be the cause. Over 200 people were evacuated and sheltered in the shade of the parking garage of the Santa Rosa Plaza. No injuries were reported. Evacuees were able to go back inside later that evening.
