A homeless man has been arrested for stealing lottery scratchers, cigarettes and beer in Ukiah. On Sunday morning, a employee of a business on Lovers Lane found several items to be missing and called deputies. After reviewing security footage, deputies determined that a transient named Lorenzo Cruz managed to enter the business overnight and take several items, including lottery scratchers, cigarettes and beer. Deputies searched for Cruz and found an unoccupied vehicle containing a six pack of beer, similar to the stolen beer, and a pair of wet sweatpants, which matched the sweatpants worn by Cruz during the burglary. It was also discovered that Cruz had cashed out lottery scratchers at another business. Cruz was found and arrested on a rural street in Ukiah possessing stolen property, including scratchers, as well money from the cashed out scratchers.
