A vigil was held yesterday remembering a group home program coordinator who was murdered three years ago. The group gathered in front of the Santa Rosa courthouse remembering Sylvia Bracamonte, a mother of two who was working at the Community Support Network’s Sanctuary House in Cotati. The vigil was held three years to the day she was stabbed to death by then 18-year-old Anderson Quinonez-Cabeza who was a resident at the home. Quinonez-Cabeza has yet to face trial due to a mental evaluation and scheduling conflicts. A trial date is set for August 18th. Meanwhile, Bracamonte’s family has filed a civil suit against her employer, Community Support Network, for putting her in a dangerous environment.
