Sonoma County Health Officer Doctor Sundari Mase is stepping down after today. Deputy Public Health Officer Doctor Kismet Baldwin-Santana will serve as interim health officer while the county conducts a nationwide search for a permanent replacement. Dr. Mase is leaving Sonoma County to take a job with the CDC. She has been the county’s top public health official throughout the pandemic. Dr. Baldwin-Santana has been Sonoma County’s deputy health officer since July of 2020.
