A man from Cotati is behind bars on suspicion of kidnapping his kids then speeding around with them while drunk. Police say it started when the man punched his kids’ maternal grandfather during an argument late Saturday night. At one point, a woman, identified as a relative, got into the bed of the man’s truck and tried to stop him. But, he drove off and led police on a chase on Highway 101. He was allegedly speeding and swerving with his kids in the truck, and with the relative still in the truck bed. The man eventually pulled over and was arrested without anyone getting hurt. Police say he was driving with a blood-alcohol level of more than twice the legal limit.
