California Governor Gavin Newsom is walking back his pledge to cut ties with Walgreens. Regulations within the state’s Medi-Cal coverage say the Golden State is bound to continue working with Walgreens to fulfill federally regulated prescriptions under Medicaid. Last month, Democrat Newsom said California was “done”doing business with Walgreens over the company’s refusal to mail abortion treatment to 21 states where GOP leaders threatened legal action. Now Newsom’s administration said it will comply with federal law.
