Sonoma Valley Sexual Assault Case Set to Begin on May 26th

A Boyes Hot Springs man finally has a trial date for charges involving sexual assault and attempted kidnapping. Jesse Leon Granado-Lopez will go to trial on May 26th, over three years since he was arrested in January of 2020. His trial has been delayed by several preliminary hearings and unsuccessful plea negotiations. He faces five charges with several enhancements and could receive life in prison without parole if convicted. Granado-Lopez was arrested after allegedly assaulting two Sonoma Valley teenage girls on the same morning. The first girl was abducted by Granado-Lopez when he forced her into his car and then raped her before letting her go. He later attempted to abduct another girl that morning but she managed to get away. Granado-Lopez was arrested that day and has been in jail ever since.
