A woman from Windsor is charged with embezzling nearly two-million-dollars from her former employer. The woman, Annette Wright, was criminally charged in late 2021 but was not arraigned until Monday. Wright is the mother of former NFL player Phil “Scooby” Wright the Third, who graduated from Cardinal Newman in 2012. Annette Wright is charged with felony grand theft and forgery involving funds from her former employer, Erickson Productions. The Petaluma-based company handles photo and video production. Prosecutors say she used the stolen money to pay for several things, including high school tuition for her son. Wright pleaded not guilty and has been ordered to stand trial. Wright’s former manager is also charged in the case and will have a preliminary hearing on May 1st.
