Heat lamps are the causes of recent fires which killed multiple pets. The first fire happened in the in the Moorland neighborhood just south of Santa Rosa on April 20th. A duck coop in a backyard caught fire when a heat lamp sparked combustible materials. The fire spread to a nearby home causing $270,000 in damages. The other fire happened this past Tuesday in the 2700 block of Francisco Avenue in Santa Rosa. A heat lamp caught fire on straw in a detached garage causing the deaths of baby chicks and a lamb. No people were injured in either fire.
