Rotting fruit caused an evacuation in San Rafael. On Tuesday morning, a suspicious package smelling of “methane” and “rotten eggs” arrived at an office complex near Smith Ranch Road. The building was evacuated as a result and a bomb squad was called in. However, the box turned out to have nearly 20 pounds of rotting fruit. The building was then reopened being considered safe to return.
