A second SMART station in Petaluma has gotten final approval. The city council have approved an agreement with SMART to begin construction of the Petaluma North Station at Corona Road and North McDowell Boulevard. Over $14 million has been set aside for the project, which also includes a three-mile pathway stretch for non-motorized bicyclists and pedestrians from Southpoint Boulevard to Penngrove’s Main Street. Construction could begin as soon as October and the station could be finished by early 2025.
