The King of Sonoma Mountain wins Best of Breed at Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show. A Sonoma County dog named Rafa won for his breed of Tibetan Mastiffs at Arthur Ashe Stadium in New York. Unfortunately, he lost Best of Group for Working Dogs to Monty the Giant Schnauzer and thus didn’t go on to compete for Best in Show. Despite that, Rafa’s owners, Sonoma residents Carleen and Vlad Faybusovich told the Sonoma Index-Tribune that they were “over the moon” with Rafa’s win. The 100-plus pound dog’s nickname is King of Sonoma Mountain. Best in Show went to a dog named Buddy Holly, a Petit Basset Griffon Vendéen.
