A group of residents are trying to remove a member of the Sonoma Valley Unified School District Board of Trustees. Yesterday, ten residents received approval from the county’s Registrar of Voters to circulate a recall petition to remove John Kelly. If enough signatures are collected, then a recall election for Kelly would be triggered. The residents argue that Kelly should be removed for acting in his own self interests without regard to students and for “relentless acts of deception, dishonesty and persuasion.” Kelly responded to the recall saying it’s nothing more than a “timeworn personal grudge.”
