Bicyclist Seriously Hurt After Crash with Car on Steele Lane

A bicyclist was severely injured after getting hit by a car in Santa Rosa. Yesterday evening, a woman was riding her bike westbound on Steele Lane. As the cyclist and the car passed McBride Lane, the bicycle swerved into the westbound lane of traffic and was hit by the left side of the vehicle. She was thrown from the bike and hit the ground, suffering life-threatening injuries. The driver of the vehicle, 65-year-old Michael Steven Gutierrez, was arrested but not for the crash. When police were investigating, they saw drug paraphernalia in plain site in his car. Cops searched it and found several large bindles of suspected meth, a scale, and more drug paraphernalia.
