After several atmospheric rivers and record rainfall, the heat is back and creating dense fuel for wildland fires. Cal fire says the conditions are particularly ripe for lower elevation type fires. Robert Foxworthy with Cal fire who says the conditions could make the valleys especially vulnerable. He says all Californians should be preparing now for wildfires and creating defensible space around their homes especially if they live around a lot of dry brush. He says clear away grasses, any other dry vegetation and other fuel items around your home to at least a hundred feet. It makes your home safer and more survivable in the event of a wildfire.
