The Guerneville chapter of the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence are blasting the Los Angeles Dodgers. The Dodgers are hosting Pride Night on June 16th when they take on the San Francisco Giants in LA. They were originally going to honor the Los Angeles chapter of the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence with the team’s Community Hero Award. However, the Dodgers have since uninvited the chapter and canceled the award amid backlash, especially from Catholic groups over the Sisters use of Roman Catholic imagery. The Sister’s Guerneville chapter blasted the move calling it “truly disheartening to witness the Dodgers’ refusal to acknowledge and honor the incredible work carried out by the Sisters within the community.“ The Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence is a non-profit charity organization that uses drag and religious imagery to call attention to sexual intolerance.
