The California Highway Patrol is ready for the Memorial Day travel surge. Officers will be cracking down as usual across the state, looking to stop those distracted or speeding. They’ll also be holding checkpoints to keep everyone safe from drunk drivers. Last year, they made almost 900 DUI arrests between Friday and Monday. Nearly 50 people lost their lives as well in crashes, up 30-percent from 2021’s enforcement.
