The number of homeless people in Sonoma County is down 22-percent compared to last year. The county released numbers from its official 2023 homeless count on Wednesday. There are two-thousand-266 homeless people, down from nearly 29-hundred last year. It’s the largest year-over-year decrease since 2015, when the homeless population declined by 27-percent. County officials credit a spending boost on emergency housing, which includes former hotels that have been repurposed into transitional housing.
