If you have a home in Santa Rosa, now is the time to reduce potential wildfire risks on your property. The city is reminding you that the weed abatement ordinance starts Monday, June 5th with the start of the local declaration of wildfire season. Owners are required to cut weeds and seasonal grasses that are over four inches in height and maintain this practice throughout the fire season. This includes properties within the Wildland Urban Interface, all vacant lots across Santa Rosa (including those in fire rebuilding areas), and developed properties with more than a half-acre of unimproved land.
