California Governor Gavin Newsom is doubling down on his threats of criminal prosecution against Florida Governor, Ron DeSantis after migrants from Central and South America were flown to Sacramento. In an interview with NBC’s Jacob Soboroff, Newsom says those asylum-seekers were tricked into coming to California. Newsom says he visited with the migrants and they told him they were promised help would be waiting for them at the end of their trip. He added that the state’s justice department will hold accountable anyone involved, including DeSantis if California laws were broken. The migrants are currently being cared for by faith-based groups in Sacramento.
