PG&E Has Large Backlog of Jobs in High Fire Risk Areas

There’s a new threat emerging ahead of California’s fire season. The state’s biggest utility is facing a huge maintenance backlog. A report shows PG&E has 170-thousand jobs waiting to be done in high risk areas. Company officials saying they’re working aggressively to reduce the backlog but admit the task of replacing old power poles and lines is daunting. The good news is this year’s fire season is predicted to be shorter and less intense.
