The highly anticipated launch of SMART Connect, the region’s first microtransit shuttle, will be celebrated today at 2:30 PM. Hosted by the SMART Board of Directors, the event will take place at the SMART Airport Station parking lot, situated at 1130 Airport Boulevard. SMART Connect has been designed to connect SMART train passengers with essential destinations, such as the Charles M. Schulz-Sonoma County Airport. The price for a single journey is $1.50 for adults, while youth and seniors can travel for 75 cents. The shuttle service runs from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. every day.
