The victim killed in a drive-by shooting in southwest Santa Rosa has been identified as a 15-year-old boy. Detectives believe Friday afternoon’s shooting was the result of a gang rivalry. The suspect drove off and is still on the loose. Police Chief John Cregan says the deadly shooting highlights why the Santa Rosa Police Department needs to do more to crack down on gangs and gang violence. The SRPD lost its Gang Crimes Team because of staffing issues in 2019. Cregan says it needs to come back.
