Hotter Than Usual Summer Expected for California

It’s official, California is headed towards a hotter than normal summer.  According to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, the Golden State has a 33-percent to 50-percent likelihood of warmer-than-average conditions – especially in Nor Cal.  This is due to an early appearance of El Niño factors lining up in the Southern Hemisphere. These conditions favor above-average heat.  While the dog days of summer may test the grid and spike lemonade sales, the flipside is California may be in for another active winter too. summer officially begins Wednesday but it will be a while before the heat presses on.  Until then, you may want to relish the cooler temps of June Gloom.
