The five-day Sonoma-Marin Fair gets underway today in Petaluma. The fair’s signature and perhaps internationally known World’s Ugliest Dog contest will take place Friday. There will also be carnival rides, livestock exhibitions, musical acts, plus food and game booths. This will be the last Sonoma-Marin Fair while the fairgrounds property is still managed by the Fourth District Agricultural Association. Its lease with the city of Petaluma expires at the end of this year, however Fair organizers say both the city and the Fourth District are committed to keeping the Fair going.
KSRO’s Tony Landucci and Larry Olson spoke with Mo McElroy, the marketing and publicity Director of the Sonoma-Marin Fair, talking about the fair.
