Summer will start with some smoke over Sonoma County. One prescribed burn scheduled for this week is down with two to go. Wednesday’s burn involved six-and-a-half-acres of land in Shiloh Ranch Regional Park. The other burns happen in Glen Ellen tomorrow and Sunday and will likely be visible from Highway 12. Thirty-five acres of oak savanna will be burned across Audubon Canyon Ranch’s Bouverie Preserve and at the adjacent Glen Ranch Preserve. The goal is to promote the growth of native habitat and prevent future wildfires.
