California’s Reparations Task Force will present its final recommendations on Thursday at an open hearing in Sacramento. Issues that could qualify for Reparations include housing segregation, stolen labor and an unjust legal system. The full report includes in-depth information on how the state can formally apologize. One recommendation by the task force is the creation of an agency including branches to provide services to those eligible. Kamilah Moore, the task force chair, told The Observer that not all African Americans will be eligible for Reparations from the state of California, at least not for financial compensation.
